Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 May 2026

Breathe is built with privacy as a foundation. This policy explains, in plain language, what data the app handles and what it does not.

Summary

Breathe collects nothing. No accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking. Every piece of data the app uses stays on your device or in your own Apple Health, under your control.

Information stored on your device

The app stores the following data locally on your iPhone, Apple Watch, or Mac using Apple's standard SwiftData framework:

This data never leaves your device. We do not have a server. We do not see this information.

Apple Health (HealthKit)

If you grant permission, Breathe reads your heart rate from Apple Health to display before-and-after session readings, and writes session length to Apple Health as Mindful Minutes. Apple Health permissions are controlled by you in iOS Settings, and you can revoke them at any time. Heart rate values are read in real time and not stored separately by Breathe.

Notifications

If you enable reminders, the app schedules local notifications using your device's notification system. No notification content is sent to a server. Notifications can be disabled in iOS Settings → Notifications → Breathe.

What we do NOT do

iCloud sync (optional)

If you have iCloud enabled on your Apple devices, your session history may sync between your iPhone, Apple Watch, and Mac via Apple's standard iCloud-backed SwiftData mechanism. This sync happens directly between your devices and your iCloud account, controlled by Apple. We do not have access to this data.

Children's privacy

The app is intended for general audiences and does not knowingly collect information from children. Since Breathe collects no data, this is straightforward.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change this policy in a substantive way, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and may notify users through the app. Material changes that would expand data collection require active user consent.
